Chant Like a Rockstar: Mantra Meditation

Meditation doesn't always have to be so quiet! Harness the wild energy of the mind and tap into a powerful pipeline steeped in a tradition of wisdom, faith, and devotion.
Kirtan is the practice of chanting mantras (primarily from the Hindu tradition in India) set to simple, popular melodies to invoke energetic qualities of the various divine beings and call them into your own life. Chanting to Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, will empower you to break through obstacles. Calling the names of the Goddess Lakshmi may help you to manifest abundance!
In this introductory class, we'll explore the mythology behind the Gods and Goddesses, learn some mantras you can use to focus your mind and open your heart, practice Sanskrit pronounciation, and finish with a long deep savasana (total relaxation.)
You don't have to be Hindu or speak Sanskrit to fall in love with Kirtan! People of all spiritual traditions (or none at all!) can benefit from soaking in the vibrations of these powerful mantras.
Teacher, Andrea Klunder, has been leading Kirtan for 4 years and is the founder of the Kirtan Chicago Meetup Group, spreading awareness and brining chanters together in music, mantra and meditation all around Chicagoland.
