You feel more peaceful, centered, and focused when you meditate. Don't you wish you could share it with the people around you?
Meditation is awesome for helping people who struggle with pain, depression, stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, hyperactivity, high blood pressure, eating disorders, negativity and more. I've had clients learn how to share mindfulness practices and exercises with everyone from children and family to colleagues, patients and students. All you need is the right intention and a few tools, techniques and terms!
In this class, we'll learn how to structure a short seated meditation and guide someone through it. We'll experiment with some different meditation styles and concepts. Then you'll even get to design your own 2-3 minute meditation and try your hand at teaching in a totally supportive forum!
We'll chat about what it's like to teach meditation professionally and brainstorm some different scenarios in which this could come in handy! And you'll be able to pick my brain with your top meditation questions.
Learning to teach meditation can help you gain clarity in your own practice, inspire new ways of communicating with the people in your world, open others to living more mindfully, give you tools for working with students in your classroom or patients in your professional practice. or inspire a whole new career path!
Notebook, pen, recording device or smart phone for audio recording optional, comfortable clothes for sitting on a cushion or in a chair

Andrea Klunder is a healer, teacher and singer who works with the body, mind and spirit with an integrated approach custom designed for each client. She has many years of experience practicing the healing arts of hatha yoga, meditation, Thai Bodywork and Reiki and views teaching as a spiritual practice. She has worked with everyone from total beginners, to babies, to young women in developing countries, to celebrities like actress Diane Lane.
A true entrepreneurial yogi, Andrea was the director of a yoga for women’s health program at a major medical facility for 2 years, boutique yoga studio and spa owner in Lincoln Park for 5 years, and has led yoga teacher trainings and retreats in Chicago and abroad. Currently, she is one half of the duo behind Mindful-U, bringing you sustainable happiness through coaching, meditation, and mindfulness (www.mindful-u.com) and the Director of InfuseLife, offering yoga, bodywork, meditation, music and yoga teacher and leadership training (www.infuselife.net.)
To satisfy her appetite for music and the arts, Andrea founded the Kirtan Chicago Meetup, connecting like-minded souls in the practice of Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of devotion, music, and dance), and the Chicago Women’s Creative Collective Meetup, bringing women from all forms of expression together to share and celebrate their work and support the creative process. And most importantly, she loves singing kirtan as much as humanly possible.
“I believe that nothing in life is an accident. Everything happens as a result of your actions, your choices, your karma. Your karma is linked to everyone else’s and we have a collective responsibility to live in such a way that builds ourselves up, builds each other up and holds our entire global community up to the light that glows within us. Every choice matters and you can tap into an infinite source of wisdom, love, and energy to help guide you in making the best possible choices in this one precious life.”
