Event Overview

Learn all the basics of mosaic design and grouting in a fun 3 hour class.

You will design and grout your own 6 x 6 mosaic on a wood base. All materials will be provided. You will have lots of stained glass, mosaic tiles, trinkets and much more to choose from to inspire your beautiful creation. All glass will be precut or cut on site for you. Feel free to bring your own small personal items to incorporate into your piece.

Make this project for yourself or as a gift. This class will take place in my home studio in Logan Square Chicago.

I first learned the art of glass cutting and stained glass design in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. In order to avoid disposing of the glass waste, I began to make mosaics. It has been my passion for over 15 years. I love breaking that beautiful glass and piecing it all back together any way I want. I teach mosaic classes and participate actively in art shows throughout Chicago. I am also part of the all woman artist collective, Mujeres Mutantes.

I loved this class. My first time making a mosaic. Norma was a very friendly, patient teacher. It was a relaxing and fun atmosphere with snacks and music. I was very pleased with my project and plan on taking more classes with her. A great experience!

This was a wonderful class. Materials were top notch, teach excellent and patient, and I walked away with a finished product. Would highly recommend!

This was a wonderful class! I had never worked with mosaic before and I had a fabulous time and took home and lovely piece of art for my kitchen. The teacher was welcoming and accommodating- I will be back!

First time working with Mosaic and it was fantastic! Home studio that was comfortable and inviting. Having snacks available was a great touch! One of the best Dabble experiences if you like to create and have guidance if needed!

I took this class with my partner and we both had an amazing time!! We both highly recommend this class. Norma is super nice, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable right away. She even offered us coffee and snacks! She created a nice creative atmosphere where you can play whatever music the group wants to hear. As far as the actual mosaic work goes: we both felt like we got a good beginning understanding of how to go about mosaic work for our own future project. We got to choose what type of project we wanted to work on for the duration of the class (a flat piece or a dimensional piece like a box). She had tons off cool glass and other materials for us to choose from. My partner and I both left with finished mosaic boxes that we absolutely love. She even gave us a parting gift at the end of the class too!
Norma really took time with each of us to make sure we were able to make what we wanted and had all of our questions answered while doing so. We can't say enough good things about this class. If you are thinking about taking this class: DO IT!
