Arts & DIY
Do you have an old piece of furniture that needs some new life breathed into it? Like hitting up estate sales for Mid-Century modern gems, but end up passing on pieces that are just too damaged? Did you spill acetone on your favorite table? Would you take the time to restore them if you just had the time and the woodworking know-how? This class, my friend, is for YOU!
In our Furniture Refinishing course, you will learn how to use the correct materials and tools to strip, repair, finish sand, stain, and clear coat a piece of furniture.
You should bring a SMALL, SIMPLE piece of furniture to restore. Please keep it reasonable for yourself! - A small coffee or end table, nightstand, headboard from a bed, small cabinet or chest - that sort of small to medium scale. Plain is best. Leave the grape leaf motif headboard for your third or fourth project.
All other class materials and safety equipment are provided.
This series will meet for six weeks on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm - 9 pm. Each class will include instructional presentations, and time to work on your projects. Students will also have the option of taking advantage of our Open Shop Time activities to work independantly on their projects and stay caught up with the class.
