Event Overview

Noodles are a staple part of Japanese cuisine. They are often served chilled with dipping sauces, or in soups and hot dishes. Some types of noodles are listed below though exactly what the class will be making will be determined the week before:

Soba: Made from buckwheat and wheat flour, these noodles can be served either hot or cold

Udon: These thicker noodles (4-6mm) are made from wheat and can be served chilled or hot in soups.

Somen: Very thing wheat-based noodle are usually served chilled Yakisoba: These fried noodles are not to be confused with soba and are made from wheat and typically served pan-fried with meat and vegetables.

Our cooking classes are part demonstration with some hands-on components. Participants will have printed recopies to follow along with and ask questions and try the dishes as they come together, and of course, enjoy the finished product.

Class meets from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, come ready to learn about Japanese cuisine and ready to eat!
