Food & Drink
This year marks the 140th running of The Kentucky Derby. When a party has continued for 140 years, you know it must be doing something right!
While Chicago may be a ways away from Louisville, there's no reason we can't bust out our seersucker suits and our "y'alls" and "ma'ams" and enjoy one of the distinguished beverages that make this sporting event one for the ages. This Dabble class is an introduction to the history of, composition of, and taste profile of the signature drinks of the Kentucky Derby.
Instruction will shine spotlight on four signature Derby drinks: The Mint Julep, The Seelbach, The Crown of Roses, and for the straight shooters among us ... Bourbon. Not only will you learn the history and fun stories behind these cocktails, but you'll also discover step by step how to make and / or order them. And what kind of Southern hospitality would we be showing if we didn't offer all our guests taste tests? Generous sampling portions of the four Kentucky Derby cocktails will be provided and discussed.
Taking this class is a no brainer. But deciding which over-the-top floppy hat to wear to the event? Now that's a different story.
All ages welcome
