Event Overview

Catch some dreams with our dreamcatcher workshop. Using natural materials, learn to create your very own native dreamcatchers. We will explore the tradition and stories surrounding this piece of Native American culture.

Make a single large one or create multiple levels. Learn the traditional weaving or find your own original style. Finish off your piece with a variety of feathers from Nicole a.k.a. Lady Bird's massive feather collection and add in some beads to bedazzle! Make one for yourself or for a great handmade holiday gift.

Nicole Northway
Nicole is an artist, educator, and small business owner. Nicole currently teaches at Columbia College, Depaul University, and runs One Strange Bird. Nicole received her MFA from UIC in 2008 and has been making and showing artwork for over 10 years. She has shown at Thomas McCormick gallery, the Hyde Park Art Center, and in the Next Fair among others. er work has been recognized by the Union League Civic and Arts Foundation in the form of two first place awards and was the recipient of the CAAP grant in 2010. Nicole is a maker and loves painting, drawing, crafting, and learning new skills to share with her students.
