Learn the basics in custom stamped jewelry. From beading basics to tantalizing textures, this workshop will guide you in creating personalized designs. Work with stamps on meal pendants to make a message, work with wire to add beads and charms, and learn to use findings to create necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Hammer your metal designs to add texture and learn to use patinas to create interesting surfaces.
This workshop is great for beginners or jewelry designers looking for new ideas. Most materials included and additional beads and charms may be purchased in store.

Nicole Northway
Nicole earned her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2008. She currently maintains a studio in her Humbolt Park apartment, which she shares with her supportive boyfriend and several species of animals. Her work has been recognized by the Union League Civic and Arts Foundation in the form of two first place awards and was the recipient of the CAAP grant in 2010. Most recently, her work was exhibited at the Thomas McCormick gallery. She has also exhibited at the Contemporary Art Workshop, Next Fair at Art Chicago, Fort Gondo Compound for the Arts in St. Louis, and the Sullivan Gallery. Nicole is currently teaching at Columbia College, hosting underground dinner parties, finding subversive potential for Mod Podge, and working on a new series of paintings and sculptures for upcoming exhibitions at Clutch Gallery and a group show illuminated by black light at the Hyde Park Art Center.

Nicole was fantastic - moved just at the right pace and it was relaxed enough to kind of do your own thing if you wanted to veer away from the main teaching part of class. Great group of people and I loved the variety of jewelry options!
