Can’t wait for spring?



Come learn about using plants to create organic plant dyes. Join Jess Egan and Nicole Northway as they lead you through an investigation of organic color. During this workshop, students will learn about moderants to keep your dyes color fast, different plants to get different colors, and simple book making techniques.



While your sample dyes simmer, visual artist, Nicole Northway will lead you through a simple bookmaking tour, so you can record your organic adventures in a handmade book. Dabblers will dye from at least four plant sources and leave with a beautiful record to dabble more at home. No experience is necessary and all skill levels are welcome!

Nicole Northway
Nicole is an artist, educator, and small business owner. Nicole currently teaches at Columbia College and runs One Strange Bird, a unique boutique that sells handmade goods and offers art workshops. Nicole received her MFA from UIC in 2008 and has been making and showing artwork for over 10 years. She is a maker and loves painting, drawing, crafting, and learning new skills to share with her students.
