The next steps! Take what you have learned in knitting 101 or own your own to start a project! Learn to read patterns, create a simple project, or start a more complex one.
Brush up on casting on and off and the knit and purl stitch. Learn different combinations of these simple stiches to create complex patterning in your textiles. Learn about tension and dropping and adding stitches to create tapered areas in your work. Learn to work with circular needles to create hats and more.
Bring your own yarn and a pattern you would like to start. Bring circular needs if you would like to knit in the round. Straight needles and starter yarn included.

Emily Moorhead
Emily Moorhead holds a BFA in Studio, Sculpture from Miami University of Ohio and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis. Moorhead has been included in various group exhibitions including Twenty in their Twenties at Women Made Gallery in Chicago, Illinois and Time-Sensitive at The Ohio State University, Urban Arts Space in Columbus, Ohio. She was honored with a Greater Columbus Supply Grant and Professional Development Grant in 2012, a CETULA Minor Project Teaching Grant from Miami University in 2011, and a Sam Fox School Travel Grant in 2008. Additionally, Moorhead’s work has been featured in the Art Libraries Society of North America magazine for an installation in the Wertz Art and Architecture Library of Oxford, Ohio. Moorhead also designs and manages an artist resource website, team-art.org where opportunities, advice, and regional contacts are posted regularly. She is currently a visiting art instructor at Capital University and the Gallery Director for ROY G BIV non-profit emerging artist gallery in Columbus. Upcoming activities include a solo show at the Spiva Art Gallery of Missouri Southern State University and an Artist Residency at FugScreens in Chicago.
