Event Overview

Join special guest teacher Alex Agudo in creating your own ring! Learn how to cut and join metals to create a simple ring using cold connections (no torches required). Don't worry, even if you have never touched a tool in your life, you will leave with a ring on your finger. Alex will guide you in cutting and shaping your metal to fit your finger. Add texture with text to make it personal or play with hammered metals to create a rustic look. Whatever your style or taste, you will find this class riveting...ha! (I couldn't resist the pun.)

Alex Agudo
Alex's love for jewelry began with his mom giving me a gold bracelet and a wonderful pendant
when he was a child. The pendant has not come off since then and he wears it all the time as a
reminder of my mothers love for me. Alex began his jewelry business in 2002, with his first customers being his friends, teachers, and family.

Alex's line of jewelry "Monsiur Pamplemousse" features precious and semi precious stone, mixed mteals, and pearls. He has been working with metals for over 10 years and teaches classes at One Strange Bird and Caravan Beads.

This was a great form of jewelry-making to explore! The instructor was incredibly friendly and explained tools and processes very clearly. My advice to all future attendees is to go for a very simple design if this is your first class of this kind. I ended up running out of time because my design was too complex.

My friend was so excited to take this class, so I agreed to join her. This was a wonderful low-key class for a relaxing Friday night. With less than 10 people, there was plenty of time for each of us to design and create our one of a kind rings. Alex gave clear and detailed instructions throughout the class, which worked out well since I tend to get focused on one thing and forget what the next step will be. It makes me very happy to know that I made this beautiful aluminum ring all by myself.
