Event Overview

Join teaching artist Jessica Egan in exploring eco-minded design. Using found materials from nature as inspiration, participants will use printmaking techniques to make an inspirational image on paper.

Monoprint and lino cut will be explored. Students will aslo gain an understanding of composition and color in their artwork. This class is all about having fun and experimenting with printmaking.

Come see what you can make with all that Mother Nature has to offer!

Nicole Northway
Nicole is an artist, educator, and small business owner. Nicole currently teaches at Columbia College and runs, One Strange Bird, a unique boutique that offers art workshops. Nicole received her MFA from UIC in 2008 and has been making and showing artwork for over 10 years. She is a maker and loves painting, drawing, and learning new skills to share with her students.

Jess Egan
Jess Egan is a Chicago based artist originally from Wisconsin and is a recent graduate from Columbia College Chicago. She works in clay, collage, and environmental art. Her interests lie in environmental activism and biological processes. She has been teaching for four years with a focus in both art and science. She currently teaches at One Strange Bird, as well as an After School Matters alternative energy program through Columbia College.
