Event Overview

Make your own tools with the art and craft of forging steel.

One of the best parts of blacksmithing is that you can make your own tools! Students will hone their forging skills by creating their own hand tools, including center punches, fullers, chisels, and drifts. Emphasis will be on gaining a basic understanding of tool steels and heat treatment, learning how to effectively use hand tools, and producing functional tools that students can put to use in the future.
