Event Overview
If you've been thinking about trying out woodturning but haven't wanted to commit to our full day Introduction to Woodturning class, we've got just the thing for you with this short, fun, very basic intro class in which our shop monitor and resident woodturning expert Chris Hoehle will show you just enough about safely using the lathe and a couple of the tools to craft your very own French rolling pin!
If you get addicted to the lathe like lots of people do, you can come on back and expand your skills by taking the more comprehensive intro class or the bowl turning class, or come see Chris during open shop hours on Thursdays and he'll help you out with further woodturning projects at that time. If not, no hard feelings and at least you get a rolling pin out of the deal!
You can check out Chris's work on his website, https://www.studiocsh.com/ or Instagram @studiocsh!

My first dabble but won't be my last! Chris was a great teacher-- super knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. Picking up a new craft for the first time can be intimidating, especially when it involves heavy machinery, but with Chris's guidance, I felt no stress!
