Event Overview
Craft a keepsake box with Chris!
Come join professional woodworker and DTL woodshop monitor Chris Hoehle for a fun class that will build your woodworking skills as we use the drill press and router table to craft elegant little keepsake boxes with a sliding lid. They can hold all kinds of things! You could use one as an engagement ring box to make your proposal even more memorable, or longer versions of the box can be made for things like pencils or cigars. This class is open to all skill levels, including complete beginners- you’ll learn the safety procedures and skills you’ll need along the way!
All materials will be provided, including finishes. We’ll use contrasting woods (cherry and curly maple), and each student will be provided enough materials to make either four of the smaller keepsake or ring boxes like the ones pictured, or two pencil or cigar sized boxes. (Or one long box and two of the smaller ones).
Once you learn the technique, you’ll want to come back to the DTL community woodshop again and again to make more of these cute little boxes!
You can check out Chris’s work on his website, www.studiocsh.com , or on Instagram, @studiocsh
