Come join us in the kitchen as we prepare a delicious spread of French inspired brunch eats and wash it down with mimosas and bellinis. This is a hands-on culinary class where you will learn, prepare, and of course, eat the themed party menu we prepared.
This class is geared to those who enjoy French cuisine and would like to learn how to prepare a few classic dishes. We will cover common French ingredients, prepare popular dishes and play with libations with a mimosa bar. By taking this class, you’ll have a greater appreciation of French cuisine and pick up some entertaining tips to host your own French Bistro Brunch party this summer!

Joelen Tan is a Chicago area private caterer and former restaurant chef behind the 'What's Cookin, Chicago?' website. Joelen has been recognized in both local and national media and has worked with celebrity chefs including Rick Bayless, Spike Mendelsohn, and Marcela Valladolid. Since 2007, she has been teaching culinary classes, hosting culinary events in Chicagoland and does recipe development work with major food brands including Sara Lee, Pepperidge Farms, Campbell's, Kraft, Frito Lay and Starbucks to name a few. Upon learning she has a gluten intolerance/sensitivity, she has transitioned into gluten free living with ease. Now as a gluten free chef, she can make her cakes and eat it too!

Joelen is the best. Always upbeat, friendly and makes everyone comfortable in the class environment. the crepes were AMAZING and of course the mimosas were as well. We had both sweet and savory options to satisfy all our cravings. The crepe batter was already made because it has to rest overnight but we were able to actually make the crepes and learn how to make the batter.

I definitely enjoyed my first class with Joelen! She was very warm and welcoming and made everyone in the class feel comfortable and willing to try something new. I will most certainly be making crepes at home very soon. I look forward to signing up for my next class at the Living Room.

it was a super fun class and i am really excited to host my next brunch! i had not idea how easy crepes and quiches could be! and this new crust recipe is delicious! danger danger!
