Elvis Was Here | Smiley Walking Tour
TOP RATED
Education
The Smiley Library is nestled in Berkeley Park. Who was Smiley? Why Berkeley? Find out during a two-hour walking tour of the neighborhood. The stroll will go by a church where Elvis once hung out and sang in the choir. We will find out about how Jack Benny's straightman, Don Wilson, was a soda jerk on Tennyson Street. Included will be tales of Lakeside and Elitch's. Time permitting, we will even go by the Old Ladies Home and find out about how Denver made movie star Grace Kelly.
Veteran tour guide and historian Phil Goodstein will lead the expedition. He has been giving tours of Denver since 1986. Goodstein promises to draw on his book, North Side Story (Denver: New Social Publications, 2011), for the adventure.
