Event Overview

Instead of worrying about finding the right Mother’s Day card, make the perfect card WITH your mom!

Team up with your mom to print a poster of your family’s motto, a favorite quote, notecards, gift tags, etc. Come with an idea or be ready to be inspired and improvise.

Each duo will work side by side to design and print a small edition using one of our four presses and handset wood or metal type.
Teaching Artist, Hannah King, will share some highlights of the history of letterpress printing, such as why capital letters are called uppercase and why it really is important to mind your p’s and q’s. Then she will guide everyone through locking up type, mixing ink, printing, and cleaning.

Registration for this workshop includes TWO spaces, you and a guest.

What to Bring

None. Students may bring notecards if they have a specific color preference.
