Event Overview

It is never too late to learn to cook and it is our mission to make sure you have the opportunity! Come join our Cooking At Home Specialists, Lorna and Sarah, as they teach you all the skills needed to successfully make sauces, dressings and marinades at home. All skills welcomed. Participants will be learning how to make a roux for three classic sauces: brown (gravy), red (tomato) and mornay (cheese). We will also make an authentic curry, an Asian dipping sauce, a vinaigrette and discuss the science behind marinating. Come hungry because you will be eating your creations throughout the class. The class includes samples and take home recipe cards. If you participate in 6 Basic Skills Classes, you will get the 7th class for FREE. See COOKING School Team Member for a punch card.

The class was very informative, hands on and provided recipes and tips galore. The food they made is excellent and there is a lot, so pace yourself :). By the end of the class, I feel confident and inspired to make a base red sauce and freeze it for future sauces as well as mac and cheese from scratch. This is a very enjoyable and educational class.
