Event Overview

The New York Times recently published an article on the rediscovery of Lambrusco, a unique fizzy wine from the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Once known as an overly-sweet sparkler, Lambrusco is now making a comeback, but this time, tradition and quality reign. One Lambrusco producer in particular, Cleto Chiarli, is on a mission to reintroduce the world to the wonderful grape. The Chiarli family has been making wine for over 150 years, making it the oldest wine-producing company in Emilia-Romagna, and today, Cleto Chiarli is one of the largest producers of Lambrusco in the world.

In this exclusive class, Tommaso Chiarli, a fifth-generation winemaker from the Cleto Chiarli estate, will join the Chef of La Scuola for a class focused on Emilia-Romagna's wonderful cuisine and the wines from his family's vineyards. Lambrusco ranges from dry to tart--only a few are sweet--but no matter type, these sparkling wines pair perfectly with food. You'll enjoy three dishes from the region paired with six Cleto Chiarli wines. Each guest will receive recipes as well as wine notes to take home.

    *This is Cleto Chiarli's newest wine and is the first time Blanc de Blanc is hitting the American market!
