Event Overview

If you’re curious about sewing or want to have a good time making something for yourself this is the workshop for you.

No experience required!!

In this beginner-friendly workshop, led by professional seamstress and designer Vanessa of Ronkita Design, you’ll learn the basics of using a sewing machine and sew a project yourself.

The workshop will be held online over video chat using Google Hangouts. It will be an interactive experience, so just like in-person workshops we chat, you can ask questions and I'll give you feedback as I guide you through the project. The project you'll be making is a handy, small tote bag, and materials will be cut out and ready for you to pick up at CRAFT or delivered to your address prior to the workshop date.

To fully participate you'll need:

• Fabric kit (can be picked up at CRAFT or delivered to your address for no charge)


• A sewing machine. If you don't already have one you can find machines that Vanessa recommends for beginners.
  


• Bobbins appropriate for your machine


• Scissors or snips.


• 
  All-purpose thread that can be purchased online. 


• High-speed internet connection is recommended.


• A stand for your webcam, phone or tablet that enables you to use the sewing machine or tools.

Please be sure to test and confirm all of your hardware and network connection are working properly before the start of the workshop. We won't be able to troubleshoot or provide technical support if you experience issues during the workshop. Video recording during the workshop is not permitted.
