Longstitch Leather-bound Bookbinding
TOP RATED
11 Have Dabbled
Arts & DIY
An older, German bookbinding technique, the Longstitch, uses a single thread to sew multiple sections into a leather cover. Traditional tools such as a bonefolder and a bookbinder’s awl will be used to prepare the upcycled materials. Each participant will create a small, unique and functional book whose pages open completely, perfect for sketching, notetaking, or other recordkeeping.
Materials saved from the landfill: paper, leather

I had seen this class offered several times, but always had a conflict. So, I was excited to finally make it. I really enjoyed the experience and am pleased with my finished journal. It's a craft I will try to make on my own.

This was my first class through Dabble, and I can't wait to sign up for another! The teacher was helpful and knowledgeable and helped students work at their own pace.
