Advanced Weaving

Arts & DIY
Have you dabbled in weaving and want to learn more? Did you take the Woven Wall Hanging introductory class but are dying to try new techniques? Then this is the perfect class for you! Building on a foundation of basic frame loom tapestry weaving knowledge, students will be taught how to create vertical stripes, negative space, and fluffy loops! Having these skills in any weavers repertoire will open doors to so many new, creative projects!
Students must know how to: Warp a frame loom, to create rya knots (fringe), to secure tails of yarn, to plain weave, the difference between slit & hatched seams, to weave shapes (squares & triangles, circles are NOT required to know), and to take their weaving off the loom.
Class fee includes a handmade tapestry needle and frame loom to take home with you (or bring your own if you’ve already taken the intro class)!
Materials Saved from the Landfill:
Frames, yarn, t-shirts, bed sheets
All ages welcome
Introductory weaving skills are required.
Picture frame looms, tapestry needles, tee yarn, bed sheet yarn, reclaimed yarn
