Give new life to what has been buried in your jewelry or craft box! Katie, of Scarlett Garnet Jewelry on Cherokee Street, will show you how to take apart old pieces and transform them into something that you can wear everyday. Come ready with your creative jewelry ideas and up to three pieces/projects to work on during class (time permitting). Rummage through your collection of old vintage clip on earrings, broken necklace strands, sentimental but unwearable heirlooms, lost-mate earrings, brooches or even found materials to bring with you to class. Clasps, chains, earring hooks, etc., will be provided. No experience necessary, although jewelry crafting experience and ability to use small pliers is quite helpful.
Participants should bring broken jewelry, lost-mate earrings, found materials, etc. to class to transform into wearable pieces.
All ages welcome
Clasps, chains, earring hooks will be provided.

Katie is co-owner of Scarlett Garnet Jewelry and teaches creative reuse jewelry workshops at Perennial.
Scarlett Garnet designs two lines a year, hand-drawing their designs based on a loose theme. Inspiration comes from a cross-country road trip to an item bought at a memorial day flea market. SG creates one-of-a-kind pieces from vintage and found objects, and by hand-sawing metal to compliment a unique gemstone. Every piece of jewelry is brought to life in studios in Kansas City and St. Louis, MO.
