Event Overview

Please note that this two-day class meets on Wednesdays, February 12 + February 19 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm each night.

Transform your favorite old t-shirts into a pieced quilt top! In the first session of class, you’ll learn how to measure + cut your t-shirts down for your quilt top, while exploring a few design options. You’ll also learn how to stabilize your fabric to make it easier to sew with. In the second part of class, you will begin piecing together your quilt top on the sewing machine. Additional work will be required outside of class to finish your quilt! Your class fee includes enough interfacing material to make a twin-sized quilt, and you will need to bring in approximately 24 graphics to make a twin quilt. Less graphics will make a smaller quilt. It is possible to combine smaller graphics such as chest patches without increasing the size of the quilt.

A variety of fabric will be available to you but feel free to bring in bedsheets, jeans, and other fabrics from home to create your quilt. Participants will leave with a pieced quilt top that will need to be either individually or professionally quilted and bound outside of class.

Participants should have basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine or have taken Perennial’s Sewing Machine Basics workshop.
