Handmade wooden spoons and scoops make beautiful heirloom pieces and wonderful hostess gifts. Theresa, Perennial’s Lead Instructor + Craftswoman, will lead the class through basic hand carving skills to create a wooden salt or herb spoon or scoop from reclaimed hardwood. Participants will use a carving knife, spoon gouge, and sand paper to shape and refine their piece. The class will also cover proper care for wooden utensils using Perennial’s homemade wood wax.
With any woodworking project, it takes time to become proficient, but this is a great project to help you dive into multiple planning and building skills!

This class was such a wonderful relaxing experience! The instructor was a warm and welcoming woman and I would love to take another class like this in the future.
